Translation Team

I am a student at Thompson Rivers University and am passionate about science education and outreach. I am actively involved in outreach programs at TRU, where I help organize and deliver hands-on STEM activities and programs for youth and communities. I enjoy finding creative ways to make science engaging, accessible, and inclusive for learners of all ages. For the Microbe Mysteries project, I contributed to translating the graphic novel into Malayalam, helping make science education more accessible to Malayalam-speaking audiences.

Óscar Enrique Gómez Rodríguez, Ph.D. is a dynamic research professor in Social Sciences with extensive experience in multicultural and cross-cultural settings, fostering an inclusive approach to social processes. He is an expert in Critical Discourse Analysis, Public Policies, and Social Representations, with a deep appreciation for Latin American and Asian cultures, particularly Colombia and Singapore.

Proficient in managing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed data methodologies, he has extensive expertise in research software such as SPSS®, ATLAS.ti®, Vensim® PLE, and NVivo®. Additionally, he produces a wide range of instructional online videos to provide expert guidance on utilizing research software.

Hi I’m Elahe! I have a BSc in Biology and I’m currently on my journey toward becoming a dentist, so biology has been a meaningful part of my life for many years. To me, biology has always been more than just memorizing facts — it’s about understanding life, and as they say, biology literally means “the study of life.” 🧬❤️

I’m really happy that I had the opportunity to help translate this story into Persian and bring it a little closer to my family and Persian-speaking readers. It means a lot to me to be able to share something I love in my own language and help make biology feel alive, fascinating, and something to connect with, rather than just something to memorize. 🥰

I’m Johannes, a kinesiologist pursuing a career in physiotherapy. I’m really glad I could help with the German translation so that this information can also be accessible to German-speaking communities. Biology is a universal language, and I believe knowledge about it should be accessible to everyone, regardless of the language they speak.

Fi Ganstal is a Swedish, Japanese, and Canadian high school student. They love how science invites us to push past our own limits and the limits of human knowledge. They spend their free time writing poetry, publishing YouTube videos on an educational botany channel, skiing, running, and reading. They hope that this book has shown you just how miraculous you and your ecosystem of a body are!

Dr. Milad Goodarzi is a chemistry educator and researcher who loves helping students discover how science connects to everyday life. He teaches chemistry at Thompson Rivers University in Canada and earned his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. Growing up in Iran, Milad developed an early passion for science and was awarded a National Olympiad Gold Medal in Materials Science and Engineering. He was excited to contribute to the Persian translation of Microbe Mysteries so that young Persian-speaking readers can explore the fascinating world of microbiology in their own language and discover the joy of science.

My name is Amber Ye, and I am a grade 9 student in Canada. The interest I held in science and my language background pushed me to take on this challenge and it has been a very rewarding experience for me. Contributing and making this novel more accessible to a wider audience, while also getting educated on the science behind it – it has been my honour to help out in the translation team!
